Rihanna has cancelled a concert scheduled for today in Indonesia over security concerns. A spokeswoman for the event organizer, says the pop singer had been scheduled to perform before a sold-out crowd of 6,000 in the capital, Jakarta. But she changed her mind while in Australia, one of several countries that issued a travel advisory to citizens in Indonesia after the weekend executions of three Islamic militants convicted in the 2002 Bali bombings. The men called on followers to carry out revenge attacks if their deaths by firing squad went ahead.
The world awaits
Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson are set to fly to Paris to buy engagement rings.
The couple -- who were rumoured to have got engaged during a romantic trip to Mexico in October -- are taking their own designs to a top jeweller in the French city after they jet off in a private plane today. The pair -- currently in London following Samantha's DJ set at exclusive London nightspot Chinawhite Wednesday night -- are expected to return to the U.K. to make an official announcement. The ring designs are said to be "hip and edgy."
Not a Valentine Sandra wants
A woman has been placed on three years probation following her guilty plea to a misdemeanour charge of stalking actress Sandra Bullock. A felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon was dropped against Marcia Valentine, 47, after she entered her guilty plea to stalking on Nov. 5, according to the Orange County Superior Court website. Bullock testified that after Valentine was spotted April 22, 2007, outside her home in Sunset Beach, her husband, Jesse James, went outside and tried to write down the woman's licence plate.
Bullock said Valentine screamed obscenities and twice tried to run over James with her silver Mercedes-Benz. James, host of TV's Monster Garage, was not hurt.

Natalie Portman is having "trouble" living at home with her parents again.
The 27-year-old actress -- who recently moved back home -- admits there are some aspects of returning to her childhood house that are causing issues.
She is quoted as saying: "I'm homeless at the moment so I am residing with my parents. It's rough. It was cool in the beginning because I got good meals and my laundry done but it turns into trouble." It was recently revealed Portman and boyfriend Devendra Banhart are no longer dating.
Bang the drum expensively
The drummer for Metallica has snapped up a Jean Michel-Basquiat painting for $13.5 million at an auction in New York City.
Christie's says the price Lars Ulrich bid for Untitled (Boxer) exceeded the preauction estimate of more than $12 million. The 1982 painting shows a black heavyweight fighter with his arms thrust in the air against a white graffiti-filled background.
The painting was the highlight of a 2005 travelling retrospective of the artist.

Anne Hathaway's ex-boyfriend says he is being held in "unspeakably unsanitary" conditions in jail.
Raffaello Follieri -- who was jailed last month for wire fraud, conspiracy and money laundering -- claims his health has deteriorated and has requested a move from the Brooklyn jail. A letter sent by Follieri's lawyer to a judge read: "He says that he cannot eat because the food appears to be spoiled ... there is excrement in the shower and rats are roaming freely." Follieri pleaded guilty to cheating investors out of millions of dollars by claiming he could buy discounted Roman Catholic Church property.

Angelina Jolie says her new film helped her get pregnant.
The 33-year-old actress -- who raises six children with partner Brad Pitt -- believes she wouldn't have conceived twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline if she hadn't starred in new movie Changeling, in which she plays a mother whose son goes missing.
She said: "I got pregnant right in the middle of shooting and I think partially because of the film. I was so emotional about children that I think something in me kicked into gear." Jolie also admitted she considers her ever-expanding brood in everything she does, adding: "The centre of my life is my kids."
Never Neverland again
Michael Jackson has given up title to his Neverland ranch in California, transferring the deed to a company he partly controls.
The singer has filed a grant deed on the ranch that makes the new owner an entity called the Sycamore Valley Ranch Co. LLC.
Tom Pearson of the Santa Barbara County clerk-recorder's office says Sycamore Valley Ranch is a joint venture between Jackson and an affiliate of Colony Capital LLC.
A person with knowledge of the transaction was unable to say what would become of the 1,000-hectare property in the bucolic, oak-studded hills of Santa Barbara County's wine country.
Toned, not brushed
Kate Winslet's body is "terrific to work with," says costumer designer Albert Wolsky. Wolsky worked with Winslet and costar Leonardo DiCaprio on the upcoming movie Revolutionary Road and says the controversy regarding her recent Vanity Fair cover, for which she was accused of being airbrushed, is entirely unnecessary.
He said: "Kate is someone who really cares about what she looks like. She wants to be herself." The actress claimed she only had her skin tone evened for the photo.
