MOSCOW - Top-ranked Jelena Jankovic rallied from a set down to cruise into the final of the Kremlin Cup with a 0-6, 6-1, 6-0 victory Saturday over defending champion Elena Dementieva.

In her third straight final, the 23-year-old Serb will face Vera Zvonareva. The seventh-seeded Zvonareva ousted Dinara Safina 6-2, 7-6 (5) in an all-Russia semifinal.

Marat Safin, the brother of Dinara, advanced to his second final at his hometown event when Misha Zverev withdrew from his first career ATP Tour semifinal because of illness.

Safin, who lost to Nikolay Davydenko in the 2006 final, will face Igor Kunitsyn. Unseeded Kunitsyn defeated Fabrice Santoro 6-4, 6-3 to reach his first career ATP Tour final.

Jankovic, who won back-to-back titles at the China Open and the Porsche Grand Prix in Germany, is aiming for her fourth title this season and ninth overall.

Jankovic took the top ranking from Serena Williams on Monday and will retain it next week because Williams, the runner-up in Moscow last year, withdrew with an injury.

In her last two tournaments, Jankovic defeated Zvonareva.

"We had a tough three-setter in Beijing, and we had two tiebreakers in Stuttgart," Zvonareva said. "I learned some things from both matches, and we'll see if I can implement them."

Safina, ranked No. 3, had an erratic serve in the first set. She had four double-faults and was broken twice.

"I could not find the court in the first set," Safina said. "I had chances in the second set, but I waited for her mistakes instead of taking the initiative."
