(Oct 15, 2007) Classics just seem to keep improving. A trench coat is a prime example.
No matter what you do with it, the trench always looks fantastic.
Fall brings tweed-trimmed mini-trenches and a sequined coat that cries out to be noticed. You can also covet a trench with an attached cape or a corduroy trench to stylishly keep out the wind.
If you want to play it safe, invest in a classic trench in khaki, navy, black, chocolate or grey. For something more radical, look no further than a metallic coat with two trends in one garment.
Cinch your trench with the matching belt or kick things up with a jewelled or decorative belt. A straight or A-line coat will take the focus off the waist.
Wear your trench over skirts or trousers. The classic look is with black pants, a white shirt and heeled loafers. Sophisticates will wear it with a modest mini and ankle boots or tights, wedge heels and a beehive.
