Fashion has decided that being warm is a style statement. The warming trend was seen in the knits, vests, hoodies and sweaters that were all over the fall/winter runways.

The prime fabric in the cosy fest is wool, which can be warm or cool depending on how it's used and the animal it comes from. Cashmere is one of the softest yarns and mohair fibres have a rougher feel.

Once you've pulled on a woolly sweater, layer it with a wool or down vest lined with faux fur. Faux fur has never looked so wonderful or real lining vests and jackets or as trim on hoods.

Chenille and fleece have made their way from apres ski and couch potato gear to luxurious casual wear. Fleece turtlenecks slip on like a second skin and chenille scarves, gloves and sweaters have a softness that is as warming as a cup of cocoa.
