I can count on one hand the number of blouses in my closet. Blouses are a bit of trouble, a touch mumsy and remind me of my old English teacher. It's far easier to pull on a sweater.

But that is changing as Hitchcock heroine chic and ladylike looks from the '50s and '60s are bringing the blouse back.

Today's blouse has a sex appeal that is universally flattering.

Team a blouse with a pencil skirt or wear it loose over a satin camisole and jeans. Look for ruffles, whimsical prints, lace and ruching. Accessorize with a choker or a rope of pearls.

If you are a fan of layering or don't want your blouse too girlie or sheer, pair it with a smart vest.

Don't feel you have to tuck in this frothy feminine creation. A belt will keep it looking pretty, not packaged. And snap up floral blouses -- they will be right on target for the spring.
