(Mar 5, 2008) Spring brings an eclectic mix of colour, print and ethnic influences, but colour is the most captivating trend.
Within this vivid parade is a method of graduated colour called ombre or dip-dye. Many will recognize a hint of hippie tie-dye in this trend.
Other colour trends are splash dyeing, batik and ikat, a style of weaving similar to tie-dye.
How do you wear all this crazy colour without looking like a throwback to the Woodstock era?
Dip-dyeing can turn a plain garment into an elegant one.
The gradual increase in colour intensity allows you to choose shades you might not wear.
Shading can be slimming when darker colours rest on curves and lighter shades flatter your best features.
If the trend is too much, look for dip-dyed handbags or lingerie to feel like you have dyed and gone to heaven.
