(Mar 28, 2008) Classics are a great way to stretch your wardrobe, and the best of these is a jacket. Keep these things in mind before you blaze a trail for a new blazer.
* Choose a neutral shade and contrast it with a yellow blouse or shirt.
* Stay away from big collars if you have a short neck.
* Pair a navy blazer with jeans and wedge heels for a polished look.
* Choose a jacket that hits the point of your hip. You don't want a bottom-hiding coverup.
* Wear a jacket with long shorts for a tailored look with attitude.
* Wear a belt with a jacket, and if you unbutton the jacket, wrap the belt around a crisp, white shirt.
* Remember that a jacket can mean business as well as comfort, so embrace its versatility.
