They've released their first EP under the name Young Rival and are eager for you to hear it tomorrow at the Casbah, with Bicycles. TRICKBAG: Hamilton's favourite blues band releases, Tricknology, its first studio recording in 13 years with a special show at the Corktown (175 Young St.) Saturday, 9 p.m. The CD contains 15 mostly original tracks, with a wide spectrum of roots influences. Trickbag is as good a blues band as any in Canada and this CD proves it. Denis Keldie sits in on keys.
BARNEY BENTALL: Vancouver pop-rocker Barney Bentall (remember the Lonely Hearts) has returned to his folkie, alt-country roots. He kicks off the Freewheelin' Folk concert series Saturday, 8 p.m. in the intimate Downtown Arts Centre Theatre on Rebecca Street. With Kim Koren. Advance $20, at the door $25.

PETE BEST: The original Beatles' drummer has finally released his own album. Called Hayman's Green, the CD is reminiscent of the mid '60s, but at times it has an Oasis-like Britrock feel to it. His band performs Saturday at Hamilton Place Studio Theatre. An all-star local band featuring Dave King, Dave Rave and Bill Majoros opens. 8 p.m. $27.50 at the door. $22.50 advance.
FABER DRIVE: Popular Canadian rockers return to Hamilton Place Studio Theatre tomorrow at 8 p.m. to perform songs from their debut album Seven Second Surgery, including Second Chance, Tongue Tied and When I'm With You.
