Here's a way to peel fresh seasonal peaches without a mess.

The peach must be fully ripe; this won't work as well if it's still underripe.

Place the fruit in a bowl and cover it with boiling water. Let sit for a couple of minutes, then drain and run under cold water. Cut a small X in the bottom (not stem) end. The skin will peel off easily, leaving perfect fruit underneath.
